Polytropon conceptual dictionary API

The Polytropon conceptual dictionary

The Polytropon conceptual dictionary, which builds on the format proposed within the project Ekfrasis (Markantonatou & Fotopoulou, 2008), enables searches word meanings, lexical and semantic relations.

Each search request should confront to any of the following syntax rules:

General word search:
The word resource must be called with the following GET request:
GET http://www.xanthi.ilsp.gr/apis/polytropon/word/<greek_string>/ for one word.

Examples:

Search for a word matching the string 'άκοπα' .
http://www.xanthi.ilsp.gr/apis/polytropon/word/άκοπα

Search for synonyms and antonyms of a word, or for other words morphologically related, or retrieve the general concept a given word pertains to:

Fields:

<type> must have one of these values: synonyms, antonyms, morphos and instatiates

Retrieve the list of hypernyms or hyponyms of a word depending on its sense(s). Search results can be either delimited to direct hypernyms/hyponyms or the full tree can be retrieved.
This resource must be called with the following GET request:
GET http://www.xanthi.ilsp.gr/apis/polytropon/word/<greek_word>/<type> for a document's details. <type> assumes one of the following values: hyponyms, hypernyms

Search for hypernyms and hyponyms of the searched word in Greek language.Search is performed in specified levels up and down respectively:
This resource must be called with the following GET request:
GET http://www.xanthi.ilsp.gr/apis/polytropon/word/<greek_word>/<type>/<level> for a document's details. <type> assumes one of the following values: hyponyms, hypernyms
<level> assumes an integer value from 0 to 2. 0 means that no hypernyms and hyponyms are found .

<level> must have one of these values: 0 to 2. 0 mean no hypernyms and hyponyms are found.

Search for words that are semantically related to the searched word. Search is meaningful for a set of pre-defined relations (see below the list of relations to be used as values for the attribute
