Saint Paraskevi's temple, Avdera

THE MONUMENT:The temple is a three aisled basilica with a semicircular concha and a modern narthex.According to the inscription on the west external wall it was built in 1845.The monument was probably destroyed during the 1829's earthquakes.
The temple is simple and wooden.The icons are dated in the 18th,19th and 20th century.On the right icon-stand there is an icon of the Panagia Vrefokratousa which is dated around the 18th century.On the narthex there is Saint Paraskevi's icon dated in the second half of the 19th century.
On the side walls there are traces of frescos από τον Χριστολογικό και Θεομητορικό κύκλο.The epistyles are decorated with geometrical and gramineous pop art designs.
