LOCATION:The temple is in the byzantine town, on the northwest slope of the hill which is located on the west part of the Byzantine Polistilo.

THE MONUMENT:According to the coins and the ceramics found among the ruins of the temple during the excavations, the monument is dated in the 12th-13th century.By the excavational conclusion it seems that the temple was ruined in the 15th century.

It is an abridged type cruciform enrolled temple with a cupola which subulates to a three sided concha on the east.In the middle of the west side of the monument there used to be the entrance, which marble doorsill still exists.

According to the excavator the attribute of the monument is the thick walls (0,72 meters). The walls are made with srones taken from the constructions of the classical period.

The tombs discovered in the cemetery aroumd the temple are boxy, built with middle sized stones. The limestone sarcophagous are from the cemetery of the Roman period. The coffins in the cemetery used to be wooden by the nails found in them. A copper which was found in the area and dated in the 13th century indicates the dating of the cemetery.

The finding of a broken 15th century othoman plate and an early othoman coin indicates the abandonment of the Polistilo during the Othoman occupancy.
