The folklore and ethnological characteristics of broader Thrace are explored in the book Thraki Antilaloi tis Anatolikis Romylias. Istoria kai Paradoseis tou Ellinismou tis Voreias Thrakis (Thracian Echoes in Eastern Rumeli. History and Traditions of the Hellenism of North Thrace). This brief historical overview helps the reader to understand the successive cultural and social changes, as well as better to appreciate the habits, customs and traditions, and linguistic idiom of the broader region of Thrace. Social and religious events often embellished with folk poetry, bearing witness to the region?s cultural evolution.
