Monastery of Panagia Archaggeliotisa , Xanthi

The male Monastery of Panagia Achaggeliotisa was probably founded during the mid Byzantine era.Today it is a 19th century building.The Metropolitan Ecclesiastical Museum is housed at the eastern wing of the Monastery.

Temple Of Pamegiston Taxiarhon,Kavaki Xanthi

DESCRIPTION:The temple is honored in the memory of Pamegiston Taxiarhon (8th November).It is a 1834's basilica built on the ruins of a temple dated in the byzantine era.The woodcut temple and the portable icons(18th-19th century) are very interesting.

The temple of Saint Vlasis is a << basilica>> with a depressed narthex which was built in 1838.In the precinct of the temple there is the parish priest's house and the school,which is a sustentation of communal tradition during the ottoman domination.
