Dioklidis lived in the ends of the 4th century B.C., the age of successors of Alexander the great. He was a mechanic from Avdira who invented many siege machines. According to texts, Dioklidis constructed ?Eleopolis?, a siege machine that Dimitiros the besieger used during the siege of Rhodes (305-304 B.C.).
